Progressing Cavity Pump (PCP) for Heavy Oil High Sand Content and High Gas-Liquid Ratio Wells
Progressing Cavity Pump (PCP)
A Progressing Cavity Pump (PCP), also known as a single screw pump, is a type of positive displacement pump widely used in oil production.
In a surface-driven PCP system, a drive head installed on the wellhead provides power through a sucker rod string to rotate the downhole pump. As the rotor turns inside the stator, sealed cavities are formed and move continuously from the suction end to the discharge end, lifting well fluid to the surface steadily.
